The Ruzizi III Regional Hydroelectric Power Project (Project) stakeholders, including concessional and non-concessional lenders (Lenders), Contracting States, Energies des Grands Lacs (EGL), Ruzizi III Energy Limited (REL), and the Sponsors met in Nairobi, Kenya from 14^th to 18^th November 2022, to discuss the Project progress and agree the steps to Financial Closing.  

 In their introductory remarks, both EGL’s Director General, Mr. Charles VUMBI MBENGA, and REL’s Project Director, Mr. Luciano Canale, welcomed participants and thanked them for their involvement in the Project.

The Contracting States and the Lenders praised the progress to date and were fully committed to continue developing the Project. During the course of the week, participants had fruitful discussions on key aspects of the Project, and ended a successful meeting with an agreed way forward to achieve Financial Closing at the earliest.
